When I was shown this technique it was at the end of a weekend of very intensive learning on the Advanced EFT course. We were all very tired and lethargic, and personally I had a 5 hour train journey ahead of me to return home. However when we had finished tapping on our metabolism, we were all full of energy and I stayed alert throughout my journey home, got home at 10pm, chatted to my husband about my weekend and then slept soundly, awaking with lots of energy the next morning!
So this is how you apply it: Take a minute to tune in to your metabolic rate, and if 100 is the optimum level take an intuitive guess as to what level it is running at now. Just ask your body, and see what number comes up for you.
Then tap a full round of EFT on "Even though my metabolism is only running at xx, I deeply and completely accept myself" with reminder phrases such as "my metabolism is too slow", "it should be running faster".
Once completed, ask yourself again what level your metabolism is running at. Keep repeating rounds of EFT until you get to 100 or feel an improvement that you are happy with.
Using EFT in this way can be useful for weight loss, before and after exercise, and at any time when you feel lethargic.
EFT can also be used on the metabolic rate if you have a high metabolism (over active thyroid). In this case you may have a number in excess of 100 and feel buzzy or hyper before you start tapping. With EFT you are looking to lower your metabolism and bring it as close to 100 as possible. Of course if you have a diagnosed over or under active thyroid and are on medication for your condition, you should not use EFT in its place without advice from your doctor.
